Halloween Events in Big Bear for Spooky Family-Friendly Fun!

Big Bear
California
October 5, 2023

Big Bear is always a hoot and October offers a bounty of fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Check out some of these fall-tastic events:

Pumpkin Smash!

Forget pumpkin spice, try pumpkin smash at Action Tours every Saturday for the month of October.

Guests will have a spook-tacular time ziplining and smashing pumpkins! If you hit the target, you’ll also win an awesome prize!

Tickets are $150, ages 8 years and older.

Free Pumpkin Patch

The Big Bear Lions Club is hosting its annual Pumpkin Patch at the base of Snow Summit this year!

Kids can enjoy a free bouncy house, hay maze and carnival games with prizes, while supplies last. One free pumpkin for kids under 12, must be accompanied by an adult. 10am – 2pm.

Halloween in The Village!

The whole family is invited to head to The Village from 5 – 7pm on Halloween to trick-or-treat from store to store. Don’t forget your costume!

A special dog costume contest will take place from 4 – 4:30pm at the Copper Q.

Treats & Trails!

The Southern California Mountains Foundation is hosting their annual Treats & Trails event on the Rathbun Trail in Moonridge on October 28th from 12pm – 2pm. Grab your best Halloween costume and head down to the trails for some trick or treating!

Twilight Safari at Big Bear Zoo

Big Bear Alpine Zoo is hosting a spooky event this October – a twilight safari focusing on nocturnal animals. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies along the way.

Six tours per day at 4:30pm, 5:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:00pm, 6:30pm and 7:00pm. $27 per ticket. Tickets are available via website only. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

We recommend bringing a jacket or sweater as October nights in Big Bear can get chilly.

Oktoberfest

Raise a stein to Big Bear’s 53rd annual classic Oktoberfest celebration featuring brats & beers, music, contests like log sawing and stein holding, and of course the crowd favorite Chicken Dance. Prost!

Treat Yourself to an Eerie-istable Getaway This Fall!

We have an amazing collection of vacation rentals to suit all sizes and budgets from cozy cabins to lake-front chalets. Grab your ghouls and gals, and head to Big Bear for an unforgettable stay!
