Cape Kiwanda Longboard Classic & Brewfest
This Fall marks the 21st time surfers will gather in Pacific City for this annual competition. The contest takes place in 15 minute heats over two days in September. Activities include live music, food on offer from local favorite restaurants, a beer garden, silent auction and a beach clean-up the whole family can enjoy.
Annual Native American Style Salmon Bake in Depoe Bay
Celebrate all things Salmon at this beloved annual event in Depoe Bay. From the event website: “Before sunrise on the morning of the event a huge 80-foot fire line is ignited with six cords of fir and three cords of alder. Thousands of pounds of salmon fillets are positioned on the alder wood stakes over the fire line, imparting rich flavors to the salmon as they bake to perfection. The Indian-Style Salmon Bake and related festivities will take place at the Depoe Bay City Park, located at the south end of the town’s picturesque harbor. Free shuttles will take visitors to and from the park, as well as from the park to downtown shops along the ocean front. Many Depoe Bay merchants offer special discounts during the Salmon Bake event.”
Cruising the bay car show
Drive your favorite classic car down to Lincoln City for the last of the Summer’s Cruise-In events! Cars will gather at the Bay House Restaurant on September 14 and participants can enjoy fine food and drink along with classic cars from the pre-1930’s to muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s as well as motorcycles and trucks. Enjoy live music, beautiful automobiles and the Siletz Bay as your backdrop.
Comedy on the coast
Join us at Chinook Winds Casino in September for an extra-special comedy on the coast highlighting the comedic talents of some of our nation’s veterans – and special pricing for veteran attendees! Active-Duty and veteran military personnel can receive 2 free tickets by presenting their military ID. Enjoy some of the country’s best comics and all that Chinook Winds has to offer.
Muttzanita in Manzanita
September means it’s time for all good dogs and their owners to head to Manzanita! This annual event is fun for the whole family and raises money for local animal shelters. All events are open to digs and kiddos and include a main street parade, oceanfront agility course, silent auction and prizes, food and fun. Plus, you can stick around to hear which local pup is elected Mayor of Manzanita for next year. Woof!
