Head to Gearhart Golf Links, the oldest golf course in Oregon. This course first opened in 1892 with just three holes, and now boasts a stunning 18-hole public course.
Beach Combing.
Gearhart’s unspoiled beach is the perfect place to search for sand dollars, shells, and other ocean treasures. We recommend heading to the beach during low tide and early in the morning for the best combing conditions.
Explore Peter Iredale Shipwreck.
Head to Fort Stevens where you can explore the rusted remains of this steel cargo ship that ran aground on Clatsop beach in 1906. Low tide is the best time to visit if you want to wander amongst the wreckage. You can also explore more history at Battery Russell – an important battery defending the Oregon coast during WWII.
