Lincoln City Finders Keepers: Special Float Drop Days

Let the hunt begin! A visit to Lincoln City is not complete without hunting for a hand-blown glass float. From time-to-time local Float Fairies place extra glass float treasures for you to find and keep. 

Increase your chances of finding these handcrafted treasures during Special Drops. Search the beaches from Roads End to Siletz Bay on these upcoming dates:  

• September 15-18: Celebration of Honor: 50 red, white & blue floats 
• October 1-2: Fall Kite: 10 floats 

• October 28-31: Halloween: 50 glow-in-the-dark floats 
• December 10-11: Basketball: 50 red and black floats 
• December 26-January 1, 2023: Winter Break: 50 floats 
   

For the upcoming Celebration of Honor, an additional 50 red, white and blue glass floats will be hidden along the beach in honor of our present and past military service men and women.  

Rules of the Hunt 

• Floats can be found above the high tide line and below the beach embankment. 
• Floats are placed on the beach during daylight hours only. 
• Floats are hidden throughout the day, not just at one time. 
• Floats are out there every day rain or shine. On rare occasions, weather and ocean conditions can create unsafe situations. Official notice of any cancellations will be made on our social media channels and website. 
• One float per person, per year.  

Register Your Float 

Find a glass float? Register your treasure at 541-996-1274, text FLOATS to 866-943-0443, or visit the registration page. You will receive a Certificate of Authenticity, and information about the artist who crafted your float. 

Looking to Create Your Own Masterpiece? 

Lincoln City Glass Center offers visitors a chance to learn how to blow glass, and make their own art. The classes require advanced registration, and your blown piece of art needs to cool overnight, so you can either stop by the next day, or LCGC will ship your creation right to your home address. In each session, participants get to work with real-life glass artists to learn more about their craft, and create their own masterpiece.
