The Mt. Hood Area is fast becoming a mountain biking mecca! Mountain biking options range from easy, family-friendly loops for beginners, to intermediate trails through old growth forests, and gnarly downhill flow trails for adrenaline junkies. Ready to hit the saddle? Meredith Lodging has you covered. Check out some of our favorite trails:

Take a Ride along the Sandy Ridge Trail System

The Sandy Ridge Trail System is quickly earning high praise from the mountain biking community. With more than 20-miles of trails at all levels of difficulty and lengths ranging from .75-mile to five-miles, there is a course for everyone! The trails wind through gorgeous forests and along streams, so be sure to take in the scenery while enjoying the ride.

Check Out the Mt. Hood Adventure Park Bike Par at Skibowl

Enjoy the view as the 1,500-foot chairlift transports you (and your bike) up to Mt. Hood Adventure Park’s Bike Park. There are plenty of trails to choose from, for beginners and experts alike. Advanced riders looking to test their skills may want to head out to the freestyle park, where you can catch some serious air. The Park also offers a Bike Learning Center/BLC where trained staff will teach you the skills you need to hit the trails safely and confidently. Check out the Sunrise Trail, a 1.5 mile-long singletrack at the top of Upper Skibowl. The epic views are worth the climb.

Ride from Rhododendron to Govy on the Pioneer Bridle Trail

This single-track, 8-mile ride connects the village of Government Camp with Rhododendron. This trail includes some technical rocky sections, so is recommended for experienced riders. Those who brave this trail will be cycling through some dense, lush forests.

Ride from One end of Government Camp to the Other on the Cross Town Trail

Looking to get from one end of Government Camp to the other? Why drive, when you can you mountain bike?! This 3-mile trail is perfect for adventurous beginners with its 400-foot climb and rolling terrain. This ride will surround you with pine, Douglas fir, cedar and hemlock trees. This trail also crosses with a number of other popular routes, making it easy to extend your ride.

Explore the Stunning Views of the Timothy Lake Loop

This loop is multi-use, so be prepared to share the trails with hikers and horseback riders. The trail takes you along the shores of Timothy Lake, providing stunning panoramic views of Mt. Hood reflected in the lake’s serene waters. Want to keep pedaling, add to your ride the Miller Trail, Headwaters Trail and Old 1916 Trail for a 15-mile trek through some of the most gorgeous scenery you’ll ever see.

Ready to hit the trails? Meredith Lodging can help you find and book the perfect Mt. Hood home base for you. We hope to see you on the Mountain soon! Book your Mt. Hood getaway at MeredithLodging.com or at Mt Hood Vacation Rentals by Meredith Lodging.
