Special Spring Break Float Drop Days: Lincoln City Finders Keepers  

Beach combing is a popular pastime on Lincoln City’s sandy stretches of beach, but did you know you can also find hand-blown glass floats? During the year, local Float Fairies hide extra glass float treasures along the beaches from Roads End to Siletz Bay during Special Drop Days. 

Rules of the Hunt 

• Floats can be found above the high tide line and below the beach embankment.  
• Floats are placed on the beach during daylight hours only.  
• Floats are hidden throughout the day, not just at one time.  
• Floats are out there everyday rain or shine. On rare occasions, weather and ocean conditions can create unsafe situations. Official notice of any cancellations will be made on our social media channels and website.  
• One float per person, per year.

Winter & Early Spring

• January 3–5: 25th Anniversary Opening Weekend – 100 floats
• February 8–17: Retro Expo (formerly Antique Week) – 100 Japanese antique-style floats
• February 14–16: Valentine’s Day – 50 red, pink, and white floats
• March 22–April 19: Spring Break – 200 floats

April Highlights

• April 19–22: Earth Day – 50 Earth-themed floats
• April 24–27: Dark Sky Festival – 30 floats

May Celebrations

• May 9–11: Mother’s Day – 50 floats
• May 24–June 6: Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation – 129 bright yellow floats

• June 13–15: Father’s Day – 50 floats
• June 20–21: Casino Anniversary – 30 floats
• June 21–22: Summer Kite Festival – 10 floats

Late Summer & Fall

• August 30–September 1: Ocean Conservation Weekend – 40 floats
• September 17–20: Celebration of Honor – 50 red, white, and blue floats
• September 20–21: Fall Kite Festival – 10 floats

Autumn & Holidays

• October 11–14: Indigenous Peoples’ Day – 50 floats
• October 31–November 2: Halloween – 50 themed floats
• November 14–16: Restoration Pow-Wow – 50 floats
• December 12–14: Holiday Drop – 50 festive floats

Note: All float drop dates are subject to change based on King Tides or unsafe weather conditions.

Float Registration 

If you would rather register your float in person, stop by the Lincoln City Visitor Information Center at 801 SW Hwy 101, 4th floor Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm. 

When you find a glass float, call 541-996-1274, text FLOATS to 866-943-0443, or visit this registration page to register your treasure. You’ll receive a Certificate of Authenticity and information about the artist who crafted your float. 

Interested in Creating Your Own Glass Float?  

Lincoln City Glass Center offers appointments with local glassblowers where you can create your own glass art. Choose from a fluted bowl, glass heart, paperweights, or a votive candle holder. Sessions range from $75-$220. Your item has to cool in the kiln overnight and will be available for pick up the next day, or you can choose to have your glass art shipped.
