Top Five Kid-Friendly Parks in Bend, Oregon

Fantastic weather, dozens of hiking and biking trails, world class skiing, rivers for floating and paddling, and one of the country’s most amazing park systems make Bend, Oregon an ideal vacation spot for the whole family.

Looking for some of the best parks to visit? We have you covered! Here is a list of 5 kid-friendly parks in Bend, so you and your family can get out and play!

Drake Park

Drake Park

Featuring a half mile of riverfront, acres of open green space, majestic Ponderosa pines, plenty of picnic tables to enjoy, and stunning views reflected over Mirror Pond, it is easy to see why Drake Park is a favorite amongst locals and visitors.

Larkspur Park

Larkspur Park

This Park has something for everyone – shaded shelters, benches, a bocce court, pickle ball court, horseshoe court, basketball court, a meadow, paved walkways, the Larkspur trails, picnic tables, and an outdoor play structure.

Shevlin Park

Shevlin Park

Enjoy a variety of outdoor activities at Shelvin Park including jogging, biking, or hiking through the Ponderosa pines, fishing and playing in the Tumolo Creek, or having a leisurely picnic lunch. Spend the day with your family doing something active and fun!

Farewell Bend Park

Farewell Bend Park

Farewell Bend is one of Bend’s most popular parks, and with good reason. Located right along the Deschutes River, the park welcomes kids of all ages. In the center of the park, you will find a playground, featuring a “lumber mill” theme, paying homage to the area’s former industry. There is also a bouldering and climbing structure, a small beach area for playing and relaxing, a boardwalk to stroll along the river, two viewing shelters to look for local wildlife, and a large picnic shelter area.

Riverbend Park

Riverbend Park

This riverfront park features a sandy beach, large open lawn areas, a picnic shelter, and accessible walking trails. The Deschutes River Trail connections traveling through the park include a 10-foot-wide paver path and an adjacent soft surface running trail. Connections can also be made to Farewell Bend Park across the river for more walking trails. Good news for your 4-legged friend! There is a popular fenced, off-leash area located right next to Riverbend Park, and dog-friendly river access too!
