If you’re looking for education and outdoorsy vacation for your family, Sunriver is a great place to base your stay in Central Oregon! Here are a few great Sunriver family friendly activities!

Visit the Sunriver Nature Center and Observatory.

 There is a world-class observatory and beautiful nature center within Sunriver Resort! Visit the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory and explore their nature trail, highlighting all kinds of native flora and fauna. You can also sign-up to attend one of their birding walks or learn more about birds of prey and other native animals at their live animal exhibits (the newest owl in residence is our favorite!). At night, return for a breathtaking look at a sky dripping with stars! The Oregon Observatory has the largest collection of telescopes in the United States! Make sure to plan ahead as some activities require reservations and tickets.

Discover Local Bike Trails.

 Sunriver is home to over 40 miles of all terrain mountain and family-friendly bike trails that weave through beautiful scenery including the Deschutes River and the Deschutes National Forest. The Sun-Lava Trail is a must see! Sunriver has numerous bike rental shops with friendly and attentive staff just waiting to get you all set for a day of riding the trails in Bend and Sunriver.

Explore The Village at Sunriver.

 The center of the Sunriver community is The Village at Sunriver – and it is made for family fun! From bumper cars, mini-golf, and rock-climbing in the summer to a Village Christmas tree and sledding/tubing hill in the winter, there is always fun to be had at the Village at Sunriver! See our Post for our favorite stops, including coffee at Brewed Awakenings, baked goods at Hot Lava and ice cream for everyone at Goody’s!
